Before I even committed, Scott and I talked on the phone several times to go over my goals for my dog. Those conversations gave me a lot of clarity and confidence in my decision to bring him there.

At drop off, Scott walked me through the goals again, gave me a tour of the grounds, and introduced me to some of the other dogs on site. While my dog was there, Scott sent regular updates, and his nightly live feedings were a great way to check in and see how things were going.

At pickup, Scott didn't just hand my dog back; he took the time to train me, too, walking me through drills and next steps so I could keep building on the progress at home. He even showed me dogs further along in his program so I could see what my dog could become. Since then, I've continued to lean on Scott as a resource for training my hunting dog, and he's always been generous with his time and advice.

Kennels have indoor and shaded outdoor access. Indoor side is air conditioned and insulated. Scott even epoxy coated the concrete so that it's easier to clean and sterilize between different dogs.

"We had an amazing experience with our Pudelpointer Cooper's 8-week board and train program at Stohner Kennels! We were looking for dog training in the Dallas area to fix Cooper's leash pulling and unreliable recall, and Scott exceeded every expectation. From the moment we dropped him off at his brand-new 11-acre facility in Poetry, just east of Dallas, we knew he was in great hands. The kennel building is insulated and air conditioned, and each run has direct access to its own outdoor space. Clean, spacious, and immaculately maintained. It was obvious Scott truly cares about every dog he boards and trains.

Scott worked with Cooper daily, and the transformation was incredible. He now walks without pulling, comes reliably when called, and was e-collar conditioned in a thoughtful way that gave us confidence continuing his training at home. Scott even did bird and gun introduction with Cooper, giving him a great foundation as a future hunting companion. He also took the time to teach us his techniques so we could stay consistent after pickup.
