What are the health requirements for boarding?
All dogs must be up to date on their vaccinations, including rabies, DHPP (or an equivalent combination vaccine), bordetella, and canine influenza, along with current flea and tick prevention and heartworm prevention. Bordetella must be current within the last 6 months. There are no exceptions and no grace period. We require a detailed health history and a signed liability waiver for all guests.
Please note: the bordetella and canine influenza vaccines reduce the risk of kennel cough but don't eliminate it entirely. These illnesses are caused by several different germs, and even fully vaccinated dogs can occasionally still catch a mild case, similar to a cold.
Don't have all your dog's vaccines current? Stohner Kennels can administer vaccines on-site for an additional fee: bordetella is $25, DHPP is $35, and canine influenza is $55. Rabies vaccination must be given by a licensed veterinarian and cannot be administered on-site.

What should I include in my packing list?
Please bring your dog with a properly fitted collar. A blanket or towel is fine to bring for comfort, but please know that personal items can occasionally get lost or damaged during a stay, so don't send anything you'd be upset to lose. You do not need to bring a food bowl or toys.
How long does a typical training session last?
Our training programs vary by dog and goal. Most sessions range from 30 minutes to 2 hours, with longer sessions available for intensive obedience or gun dog training.
Are there any specific restrictions for boarding?
We do not accept dogs with active contagious illnesses. Please ensure your dog is up to date on all vaccinations and has been treated for any recent parasites.
Are there any specific restrictions for boarding?
We accept a wide range of dogs, including intact males, females in heat, and dogs with separation anxiety or other behavioral needs. Dogs with aggression concerns are evaluated on a case-by-case basis — we have separate kennel space available when a dog needs to be housed apart from others.
What dogs do you accept for boarding?
Do you require a deposit?
Boarding requires a $50 deposit to reserve your spot, applied toward your final balance. Board and Train requires a $500 non-refundable deposit to reserve your spot, which is applied toward your final balance. Private lessons are paid at each session. Wild Bird Training Camp requires a $500 non-refundable deposit.
What are your drop-off and pickup policies?
Drop-off and pickup are by appointment only. We offer flexible scheduling whenever possible. If you need an early morning or late evening appointment, just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Will I get updates or photos during my dog's stay?
Owners are always welcome to check in. We're happy to provide updates and photos during your dog's stay whenever time allows.
Do you accept intact dogs?
Yes. We're happy to board intact males and females, including females in heat, in separate accommodations. See our full policy on boarding intact dogs for details.
